Welcome to Golden Drake Outdoors.   We’re an outdoor store created by a guy with a dog named Drake…and yes, he’s a Golden Retriever.  We started out with a hardware store and decided to add the outdoor store to satisfy our passion and yours.  We decided to pass on the mountain, river, gymnasium sized fish tanks and dead animal heads in our store, and instead focus on everything else.   After 5 years we’re doing pretty well.  This year we went through the whole store, moved out some more slow moving hardware stuff, and really bet the farm on more quality outdoor gear. 

We are locally owned, employ local people, and we want to welcome you and get know you by name.   Most of us here always felt sort of lukewarm and empty after making a purchase and saving a few bucks at the discount chain, the corporate store, or on the internet (most of the time you don’t save anything over our pricing).  It was sort of a soul-less experience, and we never really felt good about it…one of the reasons we decided to become a true independent.

Making a purchase of quality outdoor gear directly affects the pleasure of any outdoor experience.  Your gear selections should be a personal, knowledge based  interraction between an experienced, knowledgeable outfitter and you. 

That’s our goal…to get to know you, what you want to do outdoors, and make sure we provide you with exactly what you need, no more, but no less.  We intend to save you the tremendous cost of buying something 2 or 3 times before you get what you really want, or suffering with poor quality because you’re stuck with what you bought.  We want you back time and time again for each of your different and unique adventures, a true customer for life.

 Convenient hours:  M-F  8:30 - 7:00, Sat 8:00 - 6:00, Sun 9:00 - 5:00.  When you’re out and about, we’re open.
