The Stinger Silent Precision Anchor
We are very pleased to announce that our Stinger Silent Precision Anchor (Patent Pending) received rave reviews at the Midwest Flyfishing Show this past weekend. Many people asked if they could buy one on the spot, but we hadn’t brought any to the show.
What is the Stinger Silent Precision Anchor? As can be seen to the left, it’s an anchoring system that obsoletes the old fashioned weight and rope. The boat is stopped, and the Stinger is simply lowered until the telescoping tip rests on the bottom under it’s own weight, drags a few inches due to wind, current, or tide, then the dragging friction stops the Stinger tip, and then, of course, holds the boat precisely in position. Lifting the Stinger is incredibly easy with our pulley and cleat system, as it weighs a fraction of most old fashioned anchors.
The Stinger was designed by us, mostly for our guiding activities, to solve all the problems created by the old fashioned anchor and rope. We found the old fashioned anchor to be heavy, noisy, rarely held position, dirty, caused silt clouds, sometimes permanently snagged, and tore up the bottom of lakes and rivers.
Conversely, the Stinger is ultra-light, silent, precise, clean, silt-less, snag-less, and ecological. It works in the variety of currents, bottom composition, winds, tides, etc., in depths up to 5 feet.
The Stinger is elegantly simple, very few moving parts, easy to install, and more importantly a pleasure to use! No more passing up good cover because you just don’t want to put that clumbsy anchor down again. Our kayak Stinger can be raised and lowered with two fingers and a thumb while facing forward in the boat.
The Stinger is available in several sizes to fit small to large inflatable pontoon boats, kayaks, canoes, johnboats, and even large “driftboats” and other watercraft. How do you see one?
